Examination Rules and Guidelines:

  • Assessment Structure: The academic year is divided into two main parts: the Half-Yearly Examination and the Annual Examination. Additionally, there are two Quarterly Examinations held between each of these main exams.
  • Grading System: The grading system as prescribed by the UP Board is followed for evaluating students' performance in each examination. The grading system includes letter grades such as A, B, C, D, and F, indicating various levels of achievement.
  • Syllabus Coverage: The syllabus for each examination, including Half-Yearly, Annual, and Quarterly Examinations, is predetermined and communicated to students and teachers at the beginning of the academic year. The examination will cover topics from the syllabus taught during that particular period.
  • Examination Schedule: A comprehensive examination schedule detailing the dates and subjects for each examination is published and distributed well in advance. This allows students to prepare adequately.
  • Attendance Requirement: Students are expected to maintain a minimum attendance percentage as mandated by the UP Board to be eligible for appearing in the examinations. In case a student falls short of the required attendance, they might be subject to disciplinary actions.
  • Admit Cards: Admit cards containing the student's photograph, roll number, examination schedule, and other relevant details are issued a few weeks before the start of each examination. Students are required to carry these cards on the examination days.
  • Exam Hall Protocol: Students are expected to adhere to a strict code of conduct during the examination. This includes maintaining silence, not communicating with fellow students, and refraining from any form of cheating or malpractice.
  • Duration and Format: Each examination has a specified duration within which students are required to complete their paper. The format of the question paper may include multiple-choice questions, short answers, and descriptive questions, as per the guidelines set by the UP Board.
  • Use of Stationery: Students must bring their own stationery, including pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, and any other items necessary for the examination. Sharing of stationery during the examination is not allowed.
  • Late Entry and Early Exit: Students are expected to be present at the examination hall before the designated start time. Latecomers might not be allowed to enter after a certain grace period. Similarly, students are not allowed to leave the examination hall before the stipulated time.
  • Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices: Students are prohibited from bringing mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic communication devices into the examination hall. Any violation of this rule may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Security Measures: To prevent cheating, the examination hall may have proctors and invigilators who monitor the students during the exam. There might also be security measures like random seating arrangements and checking for unauthorized materials.
  • Result Announcement: The results of each examination are typically announced after a thorough evaluation process. Students can access their results through the school's designated channels or online platforms.
  • Revaluation and Rechecking: If a student is dissatisfied with their result, they may have the option to apply for revaluation or rechecking within a specified timeframe. This process involves a reassessment of the answer scripts to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct and Discipline: Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or violation of examination rules is considered a breach of discipline. The school reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary action, which might include withholding results or even suspension, depending on the severity of the violation.

These rules and guidelines ensure a fair and organized examination process, allowing students to be assessed accurately based on their understanding of the curriculum.
